Don Mariano Perez started growing coffee with his wife, Eluvia Esperanza Perez, in 1940. Esperanza coffee comes straight from San Juan and El Libano’s farms in Acatenango, Guatemala. Don Mariano Perez instilled quality standards used by the farm today to ensure proper growing and harvesting techniques, with the ultimate goal “to bring you a quality cup of coffee.”

As you may have guessed, Esperanza Coffee is named after Eluvia Esperanza Perez. The mission of Esperanza Coffee is “to connect people through coffee.” All Esperanza beans are roasted locally thanks to partnerships with Midwest roasters. Esperanza works alongside Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co., established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In 2019, Abrazo (meaning “embrace”) Coffee Shop opened in Downtown Racine to offer “a welcoming place for friends and family to come together.” More important than quality drinks, they want to create a space “for everyone to belong and feel refreshed and encouraged.”

Coffee shops are unique places where “special things happen.” Stop in and sip on Milwaukee’s Stone Creek Coffee or Rishi Tea and make connections, bring ideas to life, find friendship and share encouragement. Abrazo Coffee Shop was established “to provide these experiences to Racine.” Learn more about Abrazo’s drinks and event opportunities online.

Bill Rosenberg opened the first Dunkin’ in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1950. The standalone shop turned into a franchise just five years later. Today, Dunkin’ is the United States’ “favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee, espresso, breakfast sandwiches, and donuts.”
